Movies at Brent Cross? (There's already a multiplex at Staples Corner.) Can Hammerson find a cinema chain to take a punt?

"Picturehouse has been chosen to run the planned new Ealing Cinema, which will boast eight screens and 1,000 seats.

"The arthouse cinema will include a bar and a cafe, and is expected to open in late 2017, with the rest of the development being completed the following year.

"It will finally end the wait for film fans after work by Empire Cinemas, which started the development, ground to a halt in 2008."

"Passport to Pimlico is a 1949 British comedy film made by Ealing Studios, and starring Stanley Holloway, Margaret Rutherford and Hermione Baddeley."

[Nothing like the absurdity of Barnet Council, Hammerson, Standard Life Investments, and London Communications Agency, though.]
