Good News on House Prices: Daily Telegraph: "Taylor Wimpey sees first 'measurable improvement' in housing market since 2008 financial crisis"

"The company said it had seen a return to the more traditional seasonal patterns in the first half, with a strong Spring selling season.

"Pete Redfern, the chief executive of Taylor Wimpey who has warned that Government's Help to Buy scheme could be a 'genuine hazard' to the economy unless is was subject to a time limit, said the scheme had helped buoy the sector.

He put the improving housing market down to 'increased consumer confidence ... a general economic improvement, better mortgage availability and the direct impact of the Government schemes'.
